A Quick How-To: Toasted Coconut Margarita
I’m not sure if I’ve ever turned down a margarita? Tequila will always be one of my favorite liquors (I’m my mother’s daughter). When it comes to coconut though, I’m usually one to skip it. My husband on the other hand, would bathe in coconut if given the choice. I tell you this because we both LOVE this drink. We’ve even served it to self-proclaimed “coconut haters” & they have asked for a second (okay maybe a third or fourth).
It’s creamy, frothy, and toasty all while maintaining the integrity of a margarita. Its sweetness is balanced with the acidity of the lime, the bite of the tequila, and the fat of the cream of coconut. Writing this is making me want one actually…
It’s not a super heavy lift for prep, yet it makes a huge impact for a party or date night! Give it a try in place of your normal marg – I promise you won’t be disappointed in the slightest.
I prefer to drink margs out of rocks glasses. My favorites are these from amazon.
I like to toast up the coconut flakes in large batches and store them in an airtight container for a longer period of time. Ours have typically lasted a couple weeks. They might hold longer, but they never last long enough in our house for me to find out… If you do that, this drink takes about 2 minutes to make!
As always, enjoy responsibly! 21+.
