It’s time to ditch the same weeknight activity of binge watching some show, and incorporate something unique into your week. This “virtual art gallery tour” weeknight-in idea is so much fun & beyond simple to plan!

Virtual Art Gallery Date Night
This particular week I was seriously struggling with ideas and motivation to plan a date night. Some weeks it’s just harder than others to carve out the time vs sitting on the couch and starting a new show – you know. However, there has never been a time where I have regretted doing it. It’s always worth it in the end!
This week’s weeknight-in activity is perfect for you if you’re looking to chill on the couch, connect with your partner, and get a little creative!
Materials: What You Need To Plan A Virtual Art Gallery Tour
- Your laptop or a device that can cast/airplay to your TV. (You don’t have to cast, but it makes the experience 10x better.)
- A frame of your choice. Here are some of my favorites.
Food & Drink: A Full Date Night Menu
We kept on theme with “gallery cafe” style food & drink! Steal our simple menu below or create your own.
Food:
- Turkey Club Sandwich: Turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, & mayo on sourdough.
- Sweet Potato Fries (in the air fryer!).
Drink:
- Wine (when else can you hold a glass of wine next to a Van Gogh?).
Convo Starters: How To Connect With Your Partner During The Week
After a long day at work, it can feel laborious to be the catalyst for a good conversation even when you’d love to have one. Below are some convo starters to pair with this weeknight-in.
- Have you ever been to an art gallery? If so, what were your thoughts?
- How important would you say “art” is to you? What qualifies as “art” to you?
- What is a different form of art (a book, a song, etc.) that you really connect to? Why?
- If you had to pick one color that represents you & one that represents me, what would they be & why?
- If we were curating an art gallery displaying the most significant parts of our relationship, which moments would you choose to display?
Activities: Virtual Art Gallery Date Night Logistics
You can run through the date night any way you’d like. For the best flow, I laid out the order I’d reccomend going in.
Art Gallery Tour:
Tons of galleries offer virtual tour options, so check your favorite gallery if you have one. If you’re looking for a new gallery to check out, I listed a few below. You can walk through them, and even select some of the images at the bottom to get a better look at the art.
Source Some New Art:
This is my favorite part of this date night! Each of you pick one piece of art that reminds you of the other person. It can be the color that reminds you of them, the way the painting makes you feel, or maybe it’s of a place that’s special to you two. No rules, except you both have to pick a piece. The catch is that it needs to be on the public domain for free download. Tons of things are, so just make sure you’re checking as you go.
If you’re struggling to download the art from the gallery’s website, you can try googling “*Name of art piece + free download” & that often times works. If you want to skip the work, you can always check etsy too!
Finally, once you both decide on an art piece, show each other what you selected. Then send it off for printing. Whenever your prints come in put them in your favorite frame, and hang them up somewhere special that you both can see each day!
Dinner & Convo Starters:
Once you wrap up “at” the gallery, it’s time for dinner. Make dinner & take time while eating to go through the convo starters together & see where the night goes.
