There are tons of home hacks out there, but this is a list that you will actually use. We shared our top home hacks that offer solutions to problems you are having.
We organized the home hacks by each room. Whether you are looking for ideas in the living room or the kitchen, we have you covered! Let's jump in!
This post is about home hacks.
Home Hacks: Living Room
1. Rug Grippers
@ahousetohomey Few things give me the dopamine hit that a quick & cheap home hack does. #diy #homehacks #ruggripper ♬ Real Love Baby - Father John Misty
Nothing is more frustrating than the corners of your rug curling up. There aren't any solutions that work quite like rug grippers. We used these with our living room rug, and I am so happy we did!
2. Hidden Storage
It can feel impossible to make your home clutter free. Hidden storage is one of the best solutions you can find. My favorite furniture pieces offer functionality without creating a busier space. Narrow shoe storage cabinets and storage ottomans are two of my favorites.
@ahousetohomey If I’m being honest this pull-down TV mount was my husband’s idea 1st & I was so not into it. It’s since become one of my favorite home hacks - planning on putting one in the basement when we finish it too! #homehacks #homehack #pulldowntvmount #tvabovethefireplace #diyframetv ♬ original sound - Megan | A House To Homey
Our living room only had one spot for a TV, and it was above the fireplace. Unfortunately, looking up at a TV is uncomfortable. If you're living room is set up this way, you need to check out this pull down TV mount. You will be shocked at how this solves all of your problems when your TV is up too high. As soon as you're done watching, you can move it right back up!
4. Buy Pillowcases Separately
Skip buying your throw pillows, and buy your favorite pillow case instead. Buy a down pillow that is 4 inches bigger than your pillowcase. You can always do 2 inches as well, but 4 inches makes it look way better. This gives you luxury on a budget! My favorite pillows are from Amazon!
Home Hacks: Bathroom
5. Pull Out Baskets Under The Sink
It can feel impossible to keep your bathroom organized, and I get it! One of the best solutions I found is using baskets that pull out. This allows you to still use all the storage under your bathroom sink. On top of that you can reach everything in the back too since the baskets pull out. This set from Amazon is one of my favorites.
6. Moisture Bags
I will do absolutely anything to avoid mildew in my bathroom. These moisture bags made me realize how needed they are in any bathroom. There is way more moisture trapped in your bathroom than you realize, and these bags help keep the mildew away!
7. Raise Shower Curtain
Moving your shower curtain and rod by a couple feet will make your bathroom feel way bigger! You will need to get a taller curtain, but it truly transforms your space in the best way possible.

8. Squeegee Shower Doors After Each Shower
This sounds simple but it really will save you time in the long haul. Slightly cleaning your shower doors after each use will help you avoid water stains, and it won't take as long when you deep clean your shower. The best part is using your squeegee won't take more than 2 minutes! If you need any deep cleaning shower tips, check list post out!
9. Display Skincare On Shelves
This solutions works great if you don't have enough storage. Acrylic shelves have become super popular in the past few years. Another option would be adding acrylic shelves with gold on the sides. If you are wanting something more elevated than the normal shelves, definitely check these out.
Home Hacks: Kitchen
10. No More "Junk Drawers"
@ahousetohomey Are you pro or anti junk drawer? #homehacks #smallkitchen #smallkitchenhacks #spacesavingideas #kitchenorganizationideas #junkdrawer ♬ original sound - Megan | A House To Homey
It might sound impossible, but I know you can do it! Get rid of the junk drawer, so you can use it for more important items. The first step is decluttering and throwing away what you don't need. We have tons of tips in the TikTok above, but adding a magazine tray on your counter for mail is one of my favorites!
11. Command Hooks On Trash Cans
If your trash bags are never staying in place, consider adding command hooks upside down on the skinnier side of your trash can. Place the command hooks in the middle upper half and hook the handles of the trash bag on!
12. Hidden Paper Towel Holder
Paper towels add more clutter when they are on your counter. One of my favorite home hacks for the kitchen is putting paper towels on the inside of the cabinet drawer. It saves space and keeps your kitchen clutter free. We use something similar to this one from Amazon!
13. Baking Soda In The Fridge
This is a trick my mom did, and I absolutely do as well! Whether you have leftovers in your fridge or just some strong smelling food, it can feel impossible to get that smell out. Put your baking soda in the fridge to absorb the odor up.
If you're looking for home hacks, I am sure there are some issues you want a solution for. These are my top home hacks that actually work.
Not only did we include the best ones for your kitchen, but we also made sure to include bathroom and living room on the list. I'm so excited for which hacks you try out in your home!
