Breakfast For Dinner Weeknight-In Idea
Weeknights tend to run together at our house. Make a quick dinner, ask the notorious question “what do you want to watch”, clean the kitchen, repeat. You know the feeling… When you’re stressed with a million things on your plate, it can feel like a mountain to try to plan anything during the week.
That’s where I come in! Each week I post the ultimate guide for everything you need to “plan” the perfect weeknight in. My goal is to take all the mental lifting off of you, so that you can spend a weeknight connecting with someone you love!
Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner? As a kid, it was the BEST night. Now, as an adult, I understand my mom a little more. It’s a great “clean out the fridge” meal! Pair it with a themed movie, a little espresso martini, and some connection building activities and you have an amazing weeknight-in. Everything you need to put this weeknight-in together is below!
Materials: What You Need…
- Access to “The Breakfast Club” movie. Netflix has it currently.
- Blankets & Pillows – Here’s my fav for 2 tall people! These are our primary bedroom throw pillows that I always bring out for movie nights.
- Foldable Mattress – We use this one for our transformable guest bed & for movie nights on the floor.
- Espresso Maker – We use this Nespresso, and when I tell you making the change from a Keurig changed my life… I am not being dramatic.
- We’re Not Really Stranger: Couples Edition Game – I freaking love this game. We have the original version too, and the self-reflection pack. I make all our friends & family play it with me – it’s my absolute favorite connection game.
- Bartender Materials: This is our bar set from Amazon, it has everything you could need to made a unique margarita.
P.S. I have everything I used during this weeknight-in linked in the “shop the post” section at the bottom of this blog post. Make sure you check it out! 🙂
Food & Drink: A Complete Breakfast For Dinner Menu
- Pancakes: You could keep it simple or do something extra like a pancake sampler bar with an assortment of toppings. Think chocolate chips, strawberries, bananas, nuts, whipped cream, etc. Maybe even mini pancake flights?
- Omelets or Skillets: This is where the fridge clean-out comes in handy. Toss in whatever you have extras of. Basically any veggie works in an omelet or skillet!
- Espresso Martinis: What’s breakfast without coffee? We’re making it an evening coffee with this frothy and dairy-free espresso recipe. Check it out here.
