This post is about a moody home office.
Moody Home Office: Colors

To achieve the best look your office, colors should be rich and dramatic. A moody office is the perfect space to include wallpaper. Adding wallpaper with a dark color paint will create a moody and cohesive space.
Burgundy & Brass
I love a burgundy paint color to set the tone of your office! This paint color pairs so well with mahogany and brass. You will want to make sure the mahogany isn't too red, so it pairs well with the burgundy paint color.
Navy & Chrome
A deep blue is the perfect paint color to set the moody room. I typically prefer navy with chrome because of how well they compliment each other. Adding a dark wallpaper adds the perfect touch.
Black & Brass

This one is my personal favorite because we used black and brass in our moody office. I can't recommend these office colors enough. We paired the black and brass with this beautiful wallpaper.
Taupe & Brass
If you are intimidated by a super dark paint color, this moody office color scheme is for you! Taupe is a super neutral color that won't darken up the space too much. Brass is the perfect addition to tie the room together.
Forest Green & Brass
A dark green has to be one of my favorite paint colors! There are so many different types of wallpapers that pair well with this paint color, and brass compliments it all so well.
Brown & Brass
A deep brown paint color sets the mood so quickly for an entire room. You can decide on how dark you want the brown. Brass accents are a must with brown to keep the space warm and moody!
Moody Home Office: Design Tips
Design Must Do's
Moody Home Office: Decor

Books
Books are one of the easiest ways to add depth and personality to an office. Filling your bookshelves/ built-ins with books instantly make the space feel lived-in.
Wall Art
Choose artwork with dark and dramatic tones. A vintage portrait is the perfect piece of art work for your office decor. Here is how I create a vintage faux oil painting for an affordable price.
Tabletop Decor
Layering your desk and shelves with sculptural objects, candle holders, trays, etc. create a functional and aesthetic space. Aim for pieces with weight and texture like aged brass.

Moody Home Office: Furniture
Desks
A moody home office calls for a desk that feels intentional. We found the most beautiful vintage wooden desk & built our office around it. Look for rich finishes to make it a focal point.
Book Shelves / Built-Ins
Shelving offers major styling opportunities and character to your space instantly. Mix books with collected objects, framed art, and layered textures. Keep the palette of deep and dark tones, warm metals, and matte finishes.
Seating
Opt for chairs or sofas in luxe materials like leather, velvet, or boucle. A statement desk chair or cozy reading nook adds both comfort and style to the space.
Moody Home Office: Lighting
Wall Sconces
Wall sconces are perfect for adding ambient glow to your moody office. These are perfect for adding layered lighting without taking up floor or surface space.
Floor Lamps
Floor lamps add height and softness to the corners of your workspace while still offering flexible lighting wherever you need it! We included a floor lamp in our reading nook.
Ceiling Lights
The right ceiling light fixture sets the entire tone of your office. Swap out standard flush mounts for a pendant, chandelier, or semi-flush fixture for a more bold look.
Table Lamps
Table lamps bring both charm and task lighting solutions. Choose lamps with rich materials like marble, ceramic, or velvet shades.
