I was never a huge “gin” person, but when I started exploring a few years ago I started by pairing it with herbs. When the botanicals of the gin are paired with anything herbal I am instantly sold. In general, anything herbal is almost always a “yes” from me. This cucumber basil gin cocktail is so refreshing – it’s perfect for a poolside drink, but versatile enough for a pre-dinner cocktail. If you like mixing sweet & savory, you’ll love this one!
If you aren’t a huge gin person, you can swap for vodka. It will be a different flavor profile, but it’s still delish. My suggestion is give gin a shot for this one though – you won’t regret it! If you’re in the mood for a mocktail, skip the gin & top with club soda or a flavored sparkling water of your choice.
I reccomend serving this cucumber basil gin cocktail in a coupe glass, but if you’d like to mellow out the spirit try serving in a highball glass with club soda. Serving it in a highball glass also make the cocktail feel a bit more casual. If you want to dress that glass up, use a cucumber twist garnish instead! You can’t go wrong with either. I’ve linked a couple of my fav glassware selections for both below.
